موجز

يهدف الكتاب إلى توعية المؤسسات العامة والخاصة والمجتمع بثقافة السلامة المرورية للحد من وقوع حوادث مرورية والعمل على خفض أعداد الوفيات والإصابات الخطرة جرَّاءها، والحفاظ على سلامة المواطنين. وينقسم الكتاب إلى ثلاثة أجزاء رئيسة: تعريف ثقافة السلامة المرورية، ثم أساس هذه الثقافة، وأخيرًا تطبيقها، من خلال التجربة الأسترالية.
تعتبر حوادث السير سببًا كبيرًا في الوفاة والإصابات والإعاقة على مستوى العالم، خاصة في البلدان ذات الدخل المنخفض والمتوسط. في حين أن معظم الجهود التقليدية في مجال السلامة تعلم السلوك الآمن (التثقيف)، أو تعاقب على السلوك الخطر (الإنفاذ)، أو تصميم البيئة للحد من الإصابات الناتجة عن تلك السلوكيات (الهندسة)، فإنه هناك أيضًا حاجة إلى فهم ثقافة بيئاتنا الاجتماعية التي تؤثر في اهتمامنا بسلامة الطرق واختيار سلوكياتنا.
